This a an older post that I thought should resurface seeing as the sun is starting to shine and the warm weather is just around the corner for those of us in Canada and the Northern States:

Assuming that my readers are not only concerned with what they put in their bodies but also what they put on their bodies, I want to offer up some good links to keep you up to date with the safest and most effective sunscreens. We are warned over and over again about the dangers of spending time out in the sun without sunscreen, but after having a good look at the ingredient lists of some of the most popular brands, I’m more worried about the sunscreen than I am the sun. Like everything else in this world of ours, we just need to be informed before making our choices.
Environmental Working Group, has just finished scientific testing of 783 sunscreens. The results: 84% of these sunscreens offer inadequate protection from the sun, or contain ingredients with significant safety concerns.

Find out what’s safest and most effective for you and your children. Here is a list of the best 123 sunscreens that offer very good sun protection, with ingredients that present minimal health risks.

You can look for your exact sunscreen on the searchable data base (see below).
