Thanks Leslie! I'm starting a new career as a personal trainer, about one year into training/educating myself, though I've been studying health and nutrition much longer than that.
The Zone prescription is 40-30-30 carb-protein-fat (calories)
It's also is built around a specific recommendation for protein intake depending on your personal factors (activity level, age, body composition etc) and from there you apply the ratio. I'm still reading my first Zone book, but it makes so much sense it hurts. It's all about balancing the hormones, and the endocrine hormones respond directly to the macronutrients we take in.
Ya i'd love to talk more about weight loss and nutrition with u =) I've been trying to do it the 'right' way for the most part this time...but I have a bad sweet tooth that wont seem to give up :-$ Any suggestions?
Personal Nutrtion for fat loss and building muscle
About Me:
I go to the gym about 5 times a week. I've lost 30 pounds by working out and being more active (including weight/resistance training and cardio) and recently started belly dancing. I also attempt to eat "clean" as much as possible. (whatever clean means- that is certainly a discussion to be had.)
I'm in my fourth year of university in history and spanish.
This past September I had major knee surgery and am still healing and dealing.
