I have Restless Leg Syndrome very badly. It is aggravated by the fact that I am on a CPAP machine at night too. My doctor put me on a prescription of Mirapex, which did indeed work. However, when I lost my job, I lost my insurance as well so therefore could not afford the Mirapex.

After researching many hours for natural remedies, I came across Toxicodendron. When I first began using it, I thought it would not work. I just place 8 tablets under my tongue to dissolve and pray that my legs would not journey to unknown places of the world.

After about a week, I did begin to notice a difference. The guy at the Vitamin Cottage told me that it came in one more strength. So the next time I ordered it, I got the stronger strength.

Now I am taking Toxicodendron 12 and it does seem to work very well.

If anyone can tell me if you have used this or know anything about it, I would love to know. Also, if you know of something else that might work as well, please let me know.

My concern is this, what am I going to use if the Toxicodendron should ever stop working.

Thanks so much...Jo Ann

Well, Jo Ann I'm not a Homeopathic Doctor, but what I recommend to clients with R.L.S. is to take a Magnesium supplement before bedtime. Take a combination of magnesium, calcium and vit. D for proper absorption and be sure the supplement contains at least 250 mg. of magnesium. This often works really well to calm the muscles and helps people sleep too. You may want to have a blood test to check both your levels of iron and folic acid. Often a deficiency in these nutrients can cause restless leg.

Hope this helps!

Hi Cindy, thanks for the reply. I have actually tried this combo of vitamins for a very long time and while I was gaining the benefits of it for my body, it did not help very much with the RLS. Like I said, I have researched this topic 6 ways from Sunday and it is very frustrating. The impulses that cause this are not in the Central Nervous System, but in the Peripheral Nervous System....sigh...back when I was married, it got so bad that my ex asked me to go sleep in another room. So if you have a partner that you sleep with, it can be very frustrating for them as well.

Again, if anyone can tell me anything they have tried, please do so. The best thing I've found so far is the Toxicodendron that I found in the homeopathy section of a health food store after having read an article about it. I don't know what the components are in this stuff that makes it work, but it does seem to help.

Hello Jo Ann,
I am by all means not an expert on any of this but, I have had in the past very restless legs. My symtoms have drastically reduced to almost nil in the last year since I started going to yoga classes. I believe mine are caused mainly from sitting at a desk all day at work and the muscles in my legs had become very tight. Now that I have become more flexible, I have the best nights sleep after a yoga class.
