My son's behavior has benefited recently from an increase in protein in the mornings. It has also been recommended that we try putting him on a casein - gluten free diet. Is this not counter intuitive?

It is.....very. But totally doable with some practice.

I'm surprised this was recommended to you. I have recommended the GF/CF diet before, but there are certain symptoms that tend to indicate these foods are a problem. This diet is sometimes recommended in the case of autism, and occasionally when there are severe cases of ADD/ADHD. When kids are very addicted to these foods and don't have much interest in anything but it can indicate there are sensitivities to them. Also, these foods can cause spaciness or even seem to have a drug like effect on some people when they aren't properly being digested.

If you don't mind me asking, what type of behavior was improved and what is the protein source that you incorporated into breakfast?
